15 Thoughts You Have When The Year Is Coming To An End
It’s December! It’s time to chill, to celebrate, and to be jolly. For most of us, though, it’s time to sit and look back at the year and keep asking ourselves how the hell the year flew by, and feel bad about the fact that we never really made the year count like we had promised ourselves last year. That’s always fun to think about. Not.
Following are the things you face when you realise the year is coming to an end.
1. First off, you cannot get yourself to believe that the year is ending
“When did the year fly by?”
2. You start evaluating what significant thing you’ve done all year
And when you can’t think of anything after 2 hours of constant brooding, you feel a tad depressed.
3. Then, you start promising yourself that you’ll make the next year count from day 1
I’ll do it. I swear I will.
4. And that’s when the resolutions start
Lose weight. Cut down on smoking. Travel once every month. It’s on.
5. So does the bucket list
Solo trip to Leh, dude. Next year.
6. You also suddenly remember the resolution you were supposed to follow, and how you didn’t do it at all
I had to maintain a diary but turns out, I didn’t move past the first page on Jan 1, 2014.
7. And if you’re the rare kinds, you’ll start to proudly evaluate how you stuck to your resolution for a year
I fucking DID IT.
8. With the year ending, some of us decide to let go of any anger/hatred, and resolve issues with people we fought with
For a fresh, clean slate for the new year.
9. Pessimists everywhere think about how they’re getting older every year
“Everyone has to die eventually.”
10. All the 20 somethings start reminiscing about how far the 90s are, and how far they’ve actually come
“It’s been years, and I can’t believe it!”
11. Basically, everyone is mellowed down by the end of the year as they enjoy the winter season
Tis the season to be jolly, after all.
12. And you’re excited about the fact that you’ll be having holidays for an extended period of time
Time to curl up in bed forever.
13. You wait for it to get colder, so that you can snuggle in and spend the last lazy days of the year
Winter is here.
14. Your excitement starts to go full swing when you start deciding where you’ll be celebrating New Year’s Eve
Farmhouse? With friends? Dinner? Club? Or just alone? SO MANY CHOICES.
15. And as the end of December approaches, you promise yourself to start afresh and be a better version of yourself
